The Most Important Lab Safety Rule

موضوع مهم جدا ومفيد لكل كميائى صغير او كبير سواء كان حديث فى الشغل او خبرة فى المجال وقبل اى كلام تذكر (safety first) بص فى قواعد كتير جدا بس لزم تعرف ان كل حاجه مهمة حتى لو كانت صغيرة اعرفها حتى لنفسك وافتكر الحوادث بتحصل فى لحظه و لزم اول ما تخش معملك تنسى اى مشاكل بره لان انت بتتعامل مع كيماويات و اجهزة نبدا باذن الله.

lab is not a place for practical jokes or pranks .
Safety glasses must be worn at all times .
Fume hoods must be used when working with chemicals that may produce hazardous fumes
The location of fire extinguishers, safety showers, emergency exit and eyewash stations must be known.
The toxicity of all the chemicals you will be working with must be known. material safety data sheets (MSDSs), safety charts, and container labels for safety information about specific chemicals.
Eating, drinking, or smoking in the laboratory is never allowed. Never use laboratory containers(beakers or flasks) to drink beverages.
Shoes (not open-toed) must always be worn; hazardous chemicals may be spilled on the floor or feet.
Long hair should always be tied back.
Mouth pipetting is never allowed.

Dispose of all waste chemicals from the experiments according to right directions.
Always be watchful and considerate of others working in the laboratory. It is important not to jeopardize their safety or yours
Always use equipment that is in good condition. Any piece of glassware that is cracked or chipped should be discarded and replaced.
Do not use fume hoods for storage of general laboratory chemicals
Do not wear laboratory aprons or other protective clothing outside laboratory areas such as canteens, toilets or common areas. Even laboratory foot wear should be removed when visiting such areas.
Good Housekeeping
Visitors to the lab must be appropriately warned and safety glasses made available to them .
